How it works

Understanding exactly how we calculate your earnings β€” and what affects the numbers.

Three simple steps

1

Pick your platform

Choose from YouTube Long-Form, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, Facebook Page, or Pinterest. Each platform has different monetisation mechanics and pay rates.

2

Enter your numbers

Add your monthly views, your content niche (finance, tech, gaming, etc.), and where most of your audience comes from. These three factors determine 95% of your earnings.

3

Get your estimate

We calculate your low, mid, and high monthly earnings range β€” plus your annual potential β€” using real 2026 RPM data. You also get a personalised tip to increase your earnings.

What is RPM?

RPM stands for Revenue Per Mille β€” it's how much you earn for every 1,000 views, after the platform takes its cut.

Here's the difference between CPM and RPM:

πŸ“’

CPM (advertiser cost)

What advertisers pay per 1,000 ad impressions. This is the gross amount before the platform takes their share.

πŸ’°

RPM (your earnings)

What you actually receive per 1,000 views. YouTube keeps 45% and pays you 55%. Our calculator always shows your RPM β€” not the advertiser's CPM.

The 4 factors that affect your earnings

🎯

Your niche

Finance content can earn $18 RPM. Entertainment earns $4. Advertisers pay more to reach audiences who have money to spend.

🌍

Audience location

A US viewer is worth 6–10Γ— more than a Tier 3 viewer. Advertisers pay far more to reach high-income countries.

πŸ“±

Platform

YouTube long-form pays the most. Shorts pay roughly 15% of long-form. TikTok pays less but has massive reach potential.

⏱️

Video length (YouTube)

Longer videos allow more mid-roll ads. A 30-minute video can earn 50% more than a 5-minute video on the same topic.

2026 RPM rates by niche (YouTube, Tier 1 audience)

These are the rates we use for US/UK/Canada/Australia audiences on YouTube long-form:

These are average rates. Actual RPM varies month to month, with Q4 (October–December) typically paying 30–50% more due to holiday advertiser spending.
